Specific (Specific)

 

The set goal must be specific, so it must be clear and as detailed as possible, not vague or generalized because it is not useful to define a sufficiently unambiguous direction.

 

The advice to make a goal specific is to characterize it through a number and a deadline:

• «I would like to increase sales to 2 million euros by the end of next year»,

• «thanks to the increase in market demand, I will hire 30 people in the next 6 months».

These are specific goals because they simplify the goal as much as possible by defining where you want to get to and in how much time.

 

Mesaurable (Measurable)

 

Measure before, during and after, so as to be aware of how the work progress is going and, if needed, intervene knowingly and not, as they say, by gut feeling.

 

Wanting to increase the number of followers on social networks is not a measurable goal if you do not know the starting figure, that is, how many people follow you today and by how much you hope to increase your followers, by 10% or 50%?

A measurable goal answers the question: how and when will I know that I have achieved the goal?

 

Achievabile (Achievable)

 

Achievable with respect to the availability of your means at hand, your material assets such as the structure, human resources, or intangible assets such as the time and professional skills available. 

 

Setting realistic goals stimulates the motivation of the work team because it tends to raise the bar more and more toward higher-level goals, rewarding the achievement of the previous ones. 

 

Relevant (Relevant)

 

Choose goals that matter for your business, choose those with the greatest impact, define a few at first, but extremely relevant, especially if you have limited means available so as not to needlessly waste energy and resources. 

 

Time Based (Timing):
